Doug has been working in the medical field in the Boise area for over 30 years. He left Ada County Paramedics in 1996 to return to school at the University of Utah Physician Assistant program. As a PA he has worked in the emergency department since 1998. About 5 years ago, Doug noticed a lot of his patients in need of mental health services coming into the emergency room. Doug recognized the lack of focus on this crucial piece of people’s overall health. In April 2013 he began volunteering at a mental health clinic to better understand the field and how he may be able to help. In August of 2014 the clinic he was volunteering in offered him a position treating their patients. Doug has grown to truly enjoy the mental health field and strives to always go above and beyond to better assist his patients. Doug is an excellent part time addition to our team with his expertise in emergency medicine, psychiatry and medication management.
As a Completion Process Certified Practitioner, it is my absolute honor to provide others with connection, validation, and unconditional presence. I fully believe that every person is capable of experiencing profound healing, and it is one of my greatest joys to hold the space for this to take place.
If you have tried traditional therapies and are looking for something different or would like deeper resolution the completion process may be the next step. What sets the process apart from counseling or talk therapy is that the focus is more on feeling and much less on discussing. It's all about bringing clients back into their bodies and experiencing the somatic sensations that accompany their thoughts and emotions. When we become completely present with these thoughts, emotions, and sensations--we're given an opportunity to discover when they originated, and from there we can create resolution.
